Introduction to FANUC robot operation: power on, language change and manual fishing

For those who are just learning or have experience in operating robots from other brands and want to learn the related operations of FANUC robots, the first step in practical operation is to make the robot move through manual operation. So, we will answer you one by one from the main points of the questions.

Robot power on/off

Power on: Under the premise of ensuring that the robot is properly connected, the power supply is charged, and the surrounding environment is safe, put the circuit breaker switch on the controller panel to the ON position, and the robot will start.

Power off: Before powering off, keep the robot in a reasonable attitude and position, and put the circuit breaker switch on the controller panel to the OFF position, and the robot will shut down.

Language change

If the FANUC robot teaching screen is in English, etc., the method to change the language to Chinese is:
1 Press the [MENU] key - 2 Select [6 SETUP] - 3 Select [4 General] - 4 Press the [ENTER] key - 5 Select [2 Current language] - 6 Press the [F4] key to select "CHOICE" —8 Select [2 CHINESE] in the pop-up window on the left —9 Press the [ENTER] key to complete the setting. See the figure below for detailed steps▼

Manually operated robot

To manually control the FANUC robot's movements, the following conditions must be met:

MODE SWITCH: Located on the control cabinet panel, TI/T2 is a manual speed limit/manual full speed mode. In addition, there is an AUTO automatic mode.

ON/OFF switch: Located on the front of the teach pendant (the specific position will vary depending on the model), it is used to turn on/off the teach pendant. To control the movement of the robot through the teach pendant, it should be in the ON position.

DEAD MAN (enable key): Located on the back of the teaching pendant, one on each side (yellow), used to control the power on of the servo motor.

Shift key + any movement key: The shift key is a function key combination. Many operations require pressing it at the same time. It and the movement keys are both located on the front of the teach pendant.

Coordinate system switching method

The FANUC robot has three major coordinate systems, namely:
JOINT joint coordinate system is consistent with the axis motion of the ABB robot.
The Cartesian coordinate system includes world coordinates, jog coordinates, and user coordinates. Before being defined, they are all the same, similar to Wobj0 of ABB robots.
The tool coordinate system is consistent with the ABB tool coordinate system and is located on the end flange.

Coordinate system switching method: By clicking the COORD key on the teaching pendant, the coordinate system can be switched. The switching sequence can be referred to the figure below.
